The University of Turin (Università degli Studi di Torino, UNITO) is a public research university in the city of Turin, in the Piedmont region of Italy. It is one of the oldest universities in Europe and continues to play an important role in research and training.

The university was founded in 1404 by a papal bull of Pope Benedict XIII, and was originally composed of four faculties: arts, medicine, law, and theology.
