
The Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law, Patiala
The Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law (RGNUL) is a public law school and a National Law University located in Patiala, Punjab, India³. It was established by the State Legislature of Punjab in 2006 under the Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law, Punjab Act, 2006 (Punjab Act No. 12 of 2006)¹. The University is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and is accredited with 'A' grade by NAAC.
RGNUL offers an integrated B.A.-L.L.B. (Hons.) course, L.L.M. (Master of Law) and Ph.D. in several specializations². The B.A.-L.L.B. (Hons.) program has an intake of 196 seats per annum, and the L.L.M. program has 60 seats per annum⁴. Admissions are conducted strictly on the basis of the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT).
The University has been ranked 20th by NIRF under top universities of Law in India (2023) and 13th by The Week². It has a well-equipped campus with facilities like an auditorium, library, faculty club, stadium, guest house, computer labs, dining hall, and gymnasium.
