Sri Aurobindo Institute of Medical Sciences

Sri Aurobindo Institute of Medical Sciences (SAIMS) is a private medical college and hospital located in Indore, Madhya Pradesh. It was established in the year 2003 by the Sri Aurobindo Institute of Medical Sciences Trust, which is inspired by the vision and teachings of Sri Aurobindo and The Mother. The college is affiliated with Sri Aurobindo University, Indore, and approved by the National Medical Commission (NMC) formerly known as Medical Council of India (MCI).

SAIMS offers various courses in the field of medical science at the undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma and certificate levels. The courses are also accredited by NABL and NABH.

The undergraduate course offered by SAIMS is Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) with an intake capacity of 250 students per year. The duration of the course is four and a half years followed by a compulsory one-year rotating internship. The admission to the MBBS course is based on the merit rank obtained in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET-UG) conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA).

The postgraduate courses offered by SAIMS are Doctor of Medicine (MD) and Master of Surgery (MS) in 22 specializations such as Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Pathology, Microbiology, Pharmacology, Forensic Medicine, Community Medicine, General Medicine, Pediatrics, Dermatology, Psychiatry, Respiratory Medicine, General Surgery, Orthopedics, Ophthalmology, ENT, Obstetrics & Gynecology, Anesthesiology, Radio Diagnosis, Transfusion Medicine and Emergency Medicine. The admission to the MD and MS courses is based on the merit rank obtained in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET-PG) conducted by the NTA.

The diploma courses offered by SAIMS are Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) and Diploma in Paramedical Sciences in 14 specializations such as Dialysis Technician, X-Ray Technician, CT Scan Technician, MRI Technician, ECG Technician, EEG Technician, EMG Technician, Cath Lab Technician, Blood Bank Technician, OT Technician, CSSD Technician, Endoscopy Technician, Bronchoscopy Technician and Critical Care Technician. The admission to the diploma courses is based on the merit in the previous qualifying examination.

The certificate courses offered by SAIMS are Certificate in Critical Care Nursing and Certificate in Operation Theatre Nursing. The admission to the certificate courses is based on the merit in the previous qualifying examination.

SAIMS has a sprawling campus with state-of-the-art infrastructure and facilities such as lecture halls, laboratories, library, auditorium, hostel, mess, sports complex, gymnasium, and transport. The campus also has a 1160-bedded multi-specialty hospital attached to it, which provides clinical training and exposure to the students as well as serves the health care needs of the urban and rural population. The hospital has modern diagnostic and treatment facilities such as 40 Slice multi detector whole body CT Scan, 1.5 tesla MRI Machine, DSA & Mammography Unit along with other Hi-tech investigations facilities. The hospital also has an eye bank and a blood bank with component separation unit.

SAIMS aims to impart quality medical education and training to the aspiring doctors and paramedics and to produce competent and compassionate professionals who can contribute to the advancement of medical science and health care. The college has a dedicated and experienced faculty who guide and mentor the students throughout their academic journey.
