Smt NHL Municipal Medical College, Ahmedabad is one of the oldest and reputed medical colleges in Gujarat. It was established in 1963 by the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) as the second municipal medical college in India. The college is affiliated to Gujarat University and recognized by the Medical Council of India. The college offers undergraduate, postgraduate and super-specialty courses in various fields of medicine, nursing and paramedical sciences. The college has a total intake capacity of 250 students for MBBS, 257 students for MD/MS/PG Diploma, 18 students for DM/M.Ch and 59 students for MLT/Diploma in Radiography courses. The admission to these courses is based on the scores obtained in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). The college has a well-qualified and experienced faculty who are dedicated to teaching and research. The college also has three affiliated teaching hospitals: SVPIMSR Hospital, Smt. S.C.L. Hospital and Sheth C.H. Nagri Eye Hospital, which provide quality health care services to the patients and clinical training to the students. The college and hospital have state-of-the-art infrastructure and facilities such as library, computer lab, hostel, blood bank, ICU, NICU, dialysis unit, CT scan, MRI, etc. The college and hospital also organize various academic and extracurricular activities such as seminars, workshops, conferences, sports, cultural events, etc. The college and hospital aim to achieve the vision of AMC MET, which is to create a positive impact on society through education, health care and research.
