RD Gardi Medical College, Ujjain

RD Gardi Medical College (RDGMC) is a private medical college located in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh. It was established in the year 2001 by the Ujjain Charitable Trust, which also runs a 400-bedded multi-specialty hospital in Ujjain city¹. The college is affiliated with Madhya Pradesh Medical Science University, Jabalpur, and recognized by the National Medical Commission (NMC) formerly known as Medical Council of India (MCI).

RDGMC offers an undergraduate course in Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) with an intake capacity of 150 students per year. The duration of the course is four and a half years followed by a compulsory one-year rotating internship. The admission to the MBBS course is based on the merit rank obtained in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET-UG) conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA).

RDGMC also offers postgraduate courses in Doctor of Medicine (MD) and Master of Surgery (MS) in 19 specializations such as Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Pathology, Microbiology, Pharmacology, Forensic Medicine, Community Medicine, General Medicine, Pediatrics, Dermatology, Psychiatry, Respiratory Medicine, General Surgery, Orthopedics, Ophthalmology, ENT, Obstetrics & Gynecology, and Anesthesiology. The admission to the MD and MS courses is based on the merit rank obtained in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET-PG) conducted by the NTA.

RDGMC has a sprawling campus with state-of-the-art infrastructure and facilities such as lecture halls, laboratories, library, auditorium, hostel, mess, sports complex, gymnasium, and transport. The campus also has an 800-bedded world-class hospital attached to it, which provides clinical training and exposure to the students as well as serves the health care needs of the rural population¹. The hospital has modern diagnostic and treatment facilities such as 40 Slice multi detector whole body CT Scan, 1.5 tesla MRI Machine, DSA & Mammography Unit along with other Hi-tech investigations facilities. The hospital also has an eye bank and a blood bank with component separation unit.
