Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences, Ranchi is a government medical college and hospital in Jharkhand, India. It was established in 1960 as Rajendra Medical College Hospital after the name of the first President of India, Dr. Rajendra Prasad¹. It is affiliated to Ranchi University and recognised by the National Medical Commission². The college offers undergraduate, postgraduate and super speciality courses in various medical disciplines, such as anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, pathology, microbiology, pharmacology, forensic medicine, community medicine, general medicine, general surgery, obstetrics and gynaecology, paediatrics, orthopaedics, ophthalmology, ENT, dermatology, psychiatry, radiology, anaesthesiology and pulmonary medicine³. The college also has a state-of-the-art hospital with 1500 beds⁴, 15 operation theatres⁵, ICU, NICU, PICU, blood bank, dialysis unit, CT scan, MRI and other modern facilities. The college also has a campus with hostel accommodation for students and staff, library, auditorium, lecture halls, laboratories, sports complex and other amenities.
