Jawaharlal Darda Institute of Engineering and Technology

Jawaharlal Darda Institute of Engineering and Technology (JDIET) is a private engineering college located in Yavatmal, Maharashtra. It was established in 1996 under the Lokmat Group of Industries, which is a leading media house in the state. JDIET is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and affiliated to Sant Gadge Baba Amravati University (SGBAU). It is also accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with a 'B++' grade.

JDIET offers undergraduate courses in eight disciplines of engineering: chemical, civil, computer science, electrical, electronics and telecommunication, mechanical, textile, and information technology. The admission to these courses is based on the Maharashtra Common Entrance Test (MHT-CET) or the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main. JDIET has a well-qualified and experienced faculty who are experts in their respective fields and use innovative teaching methods and tools. JDIET also has state-of-the-art infrastructure and facilities such as spacious classrooms, well-equipped laboratories, digital library, computer center, auditorium, sports complex, hostel, cafeteria, etc.

JDIET has a strong industry-institute interaction and provides students with various opportunities for learning and development. JDIET has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the University of Nottingham, Malaysia for academic collaboration and student exchange programs. JDIET also organizes various events and activities such as workshops, seminars, guest lectures, industrial visits, internships, projects, competitions, cultural and sports festivals, etc. JDIET also has an active placement cell that helps students in getting placed in reputed companies such as Infosys, Tech Mahindra, IBM, TATA Consultancy Services, Wipro, Cognizant, etc.

JDIET is ranked among the top engineering colleges in India by various surveys and magazines. According to Outlook 2019, JDIET is ranked 100th in Top Engineering College and 61st in Top 140 Engineering Institutions. JDIET has also received several awards and recognitions such as Education Leadership Award, Outstanding Education Institute (West) Award, etc.
