Indian Institute of Information Technology Raichur

Indian Institute of Information Technology, Raichur (IIITR) is a public engineering institute established in 2015 in Dharwad, Karnataka. It is one of the 23 IIITs of India, which are set up as a Public-Private Partnership between the Ministry of Education, the Government of India, and the Government of Karnataka. The institute is mentored by IIT Bombay and offers undergraduate and doctoral programs in various fields of information technology¹².

The institute offers 4 undergraduate programs, namely:

- B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering
- B.Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering
- B.Tech in Data Science
- B.Tech in Artificial Intelligence

The admission to these programs is based on the JEE Main score and the JoSAA counselling process. The institute has an intake capacity of 180 students per year for the B.Tech programs¹².

The institute also offers 2 doctoral programs, namely:

- Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering
- Ph.D. in Electronics and Communication Engineering

The admission to these programs is based on the GATE score and the institute's entrance test and interview. The institute has a faculty strength of 25 and a research scholar strength of 40 for the Ph.D. programs¹².

The institute has a temporary campus of 10 acres at the IT Park in Hubballi, which houses the academic and administrative buildings, laboratories, library, hostel, and mess facilities. The institute is in the process of developing a permanent campus of 61.06 acres at Dharwad, which will have state-of-the-art infrastructure and facilities such as:

- Smart classrooms, auditoriums, and seminar halls
- Advanced laboratories, workshops, and studios
- Central and departmental libraries with digital access
- Hostels for boys and girls with mess and canteen
- Sports complex, gymnasium, and yoga center
- Health center, ATM, and bank
- Wi-Fi, CCTV, and security systems
- Transport and parking facilities¹²

The institute has a strong focus on research and innovation, with several sponsored projects, publications, patents, and collaborations with industry and academia. The institute has received grants from various agencies such as DST, DRDO, ISRO, AICTE, UGC, etc. The institute also has an Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Center (IEDC) and an Incubation Center to promote entrepreneurship among students and faculty¹².

The institute has a dedicated placement cell that provides training and guidance to the students and connects them with reputed companies and organizations. The institute has a record of excellent placements, with more than 90% of the students placed in 2020-21. Some of the top recruiters of the institute are Amazon, Microsoft, Goldman Sachs, Flipkart, PhonePe, Samsung, etc. The institute also organizes internships, industrial visits, guest lectures, and workshops to enhance the employability skills of the students¹².
