Guru Jambheshwar University of Science and Technology

GJUST is a state not-for-profit public university established in 1995 by an Act of the Legislature of the State of Haryana¹. It is named after Guru Jambheshwar Ji Maharaj, a saint environmentalist of the 15th century⁴. It is located in Hisar, Haryana, and has a sprawling campus of 372 acres with modern facilities and infrastructure¹. GJUST aims to provide high-quality education and research in the fields of science, technology, engineering, pharmacy, environmental studies, non-conventional energy sources, mass media and management studies¹.

GJUST offers various academic programs such as B.Tech, M.Tech, B.Pharm, M.Pharm, B.Sc, M.Sc, BBA, MBA, B.Com, M.Com, BA, MA, LLB, LLM, PG Diploma and Ph.D. in different areas of specialization². All the programs are approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA)¹. Some of the programs are also granted equivalence to MBA by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU)¹. The programs cover core and elective courses, practicals, projects, internships and dissertations. The programs also provide opportunities for international exposure through global live projects, study abroad tours and interaction with foreign faculty and students¹. The programs are designed to equip the students with the knowledge, skills and attitude required to excel in various sectors such as science, technology, engineering, pharmacy, environment, media and management.

GJUST has a well-equipped library with over 1.5 lakh books, journals, reports, CDs and DVDs on various aspects of science and technology². The library also provides access to online databases, e-journals and e-books through its digital library. GJUST has a state-of-the-art computer centre with high-speed internet connectivity and software applications for data analysis, simulation, modelling and decision support. GJUST also has a video conferencing facility, which enables interaction with national and international experts and institutions. GJUST has a modern auditorium with a seating capacity of 800 people, which is used for conducting seminars, workshops, conferences and cultural events. GJUST also has a guest house, hostel, cafeteria, gymnasium, sports complex and recreational facilities for the convenience and comfort of its students, faculty and visitors.

GJUST has a qualified and experienced faculty team comprising of 200 full-time faculty members². The faculty members have expertise in various domains of science and technology such as physics, chemistry, mathematics, biotechnology, computer science etc. The faculty members are also involved in research, consultancy, training and development activities for various national and international organizations such as DST, DBT, DRDO etc. GJUST also invites distinguished guest speakers from academia and industry to share their insights and experiences with the students.

GJUST has a vibrant student community with diverse backgrounds and interests. The students participate in various academic,
co-curricular and extra-curricular activities such as clubs,
committees,
events,
competitions,
festivals,
sports etc. The students also organize
and manage various events such as EdCon (an annual education conference), Colloquium (a guest lecture series), Sirmaur Super Series (a sports tournament) etc¹. The students also engage in social initiatives such as Prayaas (a community service club), Unnati (a skill development program) etc.

GJUST has an active placement cell that facilitates the placement process for the students. The placement cell organizes various activities such as pre-placement talks,
mock interviews,
resume building workshops etc. to prepare the students for the recruitment process. GJUST has witnessed impressive placements over the years with reputed recruiters from various sectors such as science,
technology,
engineering,
pharmacy,
environment,
media
and management. Some of the prominent recruiters include Airtel,
Berger Paints,
BrowserStack,
DE Shaw,
ICICI Bank,
Kotak Mahindra Bank,
Tolaram Group,
Virtusa etc¹. In 2023 GJUST achieved 100% placements with 913 job offers made by over 250 recruiters¹. The highest package offered was INR 19.95 LPA while the average package was INR 6.5 LPA¹.

GJUST has been ranked among the top universities in India by various ranking agencies. In 2023 GJUST was ranked 64th by NIRF among the universities³. GJUST was also ranked 15th among the state universities by Outlook-ICARE India University Rankings 2023.
