David Tvildiani Medical University

David Tvildiani Medical University (DTMU) is a private medical university in Tbilisi, Georgia, that was established in 1989 by Academician David Tvildiani and Dr. Dimitri Tvildiani. It is the first non-governmental medical institution in Georgia and one of the leading medical universities in the region¹². The university offers a six-year MD program in English, which is accredited by the National Center for Educational Quality Enhancement and recognized by the World Directory of Medical Schools. Some of the features of DTMU are:

- It has a problem-based learning (PBL) curriculum that fosters critical thinking, self-directed learning, and clinical reasoning skills.
- It has a Central Scientific Research Laboratory that conducts research in various fields of medicine and biomedicine and publishes in international journals.
- It has a partnership with the Emory University School of Medicine in the USA and hosts lectures, seminars, and workshops by Emory faculty and students.
- It has a Student Exchange Program that allows students to study abroad in countries such as the USA, Germany, Italy, Poland, and Turkey.
- It has a Student and Young Scientists Association (SYSSA) that organizes academic and social events, such as conferences, symposiums, and festivals.

DTMU's tuition fee for the MD program is $5,500 per year, which includes the cost of textbooks, library access, and internet service. The admission process for international students requires a copy of the passport, a high school certificate or a bachelor's degree diploma, an application fee payment receipt, and a video interview²³. DTMU has two intakes per year: fall and spring.
