Chirayu Medical College & Hospital

Chirayu Medical College & Hospital (CMCH) is a private medical college located in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. It was established in the year 2010 by the Chirayu Charitable Foundation, which also runs other health care institutions such as Chirayu Hospital, Chirayu Cancer Centre, and Chirayu Super Speciality Hospital¹.

CMCH offers various courses in the field of medical science at the undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma and certificate levels. The courses are affiliated with Madhya Pradesh Medical Science University, Jabalpur, and approved by the National Medical Commission (NMC) formerly known as Medical Council of India (MCI). The courses are also accredited by NABL and NABH².

The undergraduate courses offered by CMCH are Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) and Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) in Nursing, Operation Theatre Technology, Radiography, and Anaesthesia Technology. The admission to the MBBS course is based on the merit rank obtained in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET-UG) conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA)³. The admission to the B.Sc courses is based on the merit in the previous qualifying examination⁴.

The postgraduate courses offered by CMCH are Doctor of Medicine (MD) and Master of Surgery (MS) in 19 specializations such as Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Pathology, Microbiology, Pharmacology, Forensic Medicine, Community Medicine, General Medicine, Paediatrics, Dermatology, Psychiatry, Respiratory Medicine, General Surgery, Orthopaedics, Ophthalmology, ENT, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, and Anaesthesiology. The admission to the MD and MS courses is based on the merit rank obtained in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET-PG) conducted by the NTA³.

The diploma courses offered by CMCH are Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) and Diploma in Paramedical Sciences in 13 specializations such as Dialysis Technician, X-Ray Technician, CT Scan Technician, MRI Technician, ECG Technician, EEG Technician, EMG Technician, Cath Lab Technician, Blood Bank Technician, OT Technician, CSSD Technician, Endoscopy Technician, and Bronchoscopy Technician. The admission to the diploma courses is based on the merit in the previous qualifying examination⁴.

The certificate course offered by CMCH is Certificate in Critical Care. The admission to the certificate course is based on the merit in the previous qualifying examination⁴.

CMCH has a sprawling campus with state-of-the-art infrastructure and facilities such as lecture halls, laboratories, library, auditorium, hostel, mess, sports complex, gymnasium, and transport. The campus also has a 750-bedded multi-specialty hospital attached to it, which provides clinical training and exposure to the students as well as serves the health care needs of the urban and rural population⁵.

CMCH aims to impart quality medical education and training to the aspiring doctors and paramedics and to produce competent and compassionate professionals who can contribute to the advancement of medical science and health care. The college has a dedicated and experienced faculty who guide and mentor the students throughout their academic journey.
