Banas Medical College and Research Institute, Palanpur

Banas Medical College and Research Institute, Palanpur is a new medical college that was established in 2018 by the Banas Dairy, a member of the Amul group. It is the first public-private partnership (PPP) model in the field of medical education in India¹³. The college is affiliated with Hemchandracharya North Gujarat University, Patan and recognised by the National Medical Commission (NMC) of India.

The college offers a five-and-a-half-year MBBS course, which includes one year of compulsory internship. The annual intake of the college is 200 students, who are selected through the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). The college follows the curriculum prescribed by the NMC and the university. The college has state-of-the-art infrastructure, including laboratories, lecture halls, library, auditorium, skill lab, and simulation center.The college also has a 650-bedded multi-specialty teaching hospital, where the students get practical training and exposure to various departments.

The college has a team of highly qualified and experienced faculty members, who are dedicated to imparting knowledge and skills to the students. The college also encourages the students to participate in extracurricular activities, such as sports, cultural events, NSS, and medical camps. The college has a student council that represents the interests and welfare of the students.
